TRANSLATION.

Draft Regulations for the joining of the British and Chinese

Sections of the Kowloon-Canton Railway.

(1)

The

engines are changed.

Station shall be the place where locomotive

All matters concerning such changing shall

be in charge of the officers appointed for the purpose by the two Governments, or of the Station Masters.

(2) The particulars of each changing shall be entered into a book specially kept for the purpose by the officers of both sections in the following form, which shall be common to both sections: -

The officers of both sections shall compare their entries oach day and such entries shall further be certified by the Station Master, and a return of such entries shall be forwarded to the Superintendents of both sections for their information. No addi- tion or alteration is allowed to be made in such entries except by the Station Jaster with red ink.

(3) All kinds of vehicles hauled by the locomotive engine to the 'Changing-over' Station shall be deemed to have been delivered over or returned to the other section if they are diconnected with the train. aho rent of the carriages shall be counted from the midnight of that day on daily terms; and for this purpose, one day shall mean from one midnight to the following midnight. The rates for the rent of carriages shall be as follows:
